The holiday season is one of my absolute favorites. With the season slowed down, family gatherings, the warmth of hot apple cider, and hot chocolate what more could you need? I especially love this time because I can pause and reflect on the past year, create for myself, plan for the new year to come and just enjoy the slowness of everything.

This past year was everything we could have hoped for. My sweet daughter Laila turned one in March of 2021 and since then she has been a whirlwind! She is funny, loving, caring and grows in her curiosity everyday. I never knew a love until I had my daughter. Now that love is going to expand even further as we prepare to welcome our sweet baby boy in April of 2022. Andrew and I could not be more excited to have another baby and to watch Laila step into her role as big sister. We know she is going to do great!

Haven Florals was able to serve 20 couples this past wedding season and wow was it an honor. We traveled all over South Tahoe, as well as Quincy, CA and even had some local Reno weddings. This year I felt like we truly created elevated designs that spoke to who I am as an artist and floral designer. We had many helpers for each wedding week and I could not have completed these designs without them! I am so thankful for our flower community. Take a peek at some of these amazing days below.

As I reflect on this past year, one word comes to mind and it’s THANKFUL. I’m thankful for learning and growing in motherhood, learning and growing as a wife, and finding myself again after BIG life changes. I am thankful for the amazing couples who said YES to us being a part of their wedding. I am thankful for my flower friends and family that helped me execute each wedding and keep me sane as the weeks went by. I am thankful for every vendor I was able to collaborate and work with this season, without them we wouldn’t be where we are at today! I am thankful for every flower course, and business course I’ve had the privilege to invest in. I am thankful for my husband Andrew for always supporting my free spirit, learning and growing with me and being the best dad to our Laila.

As I think about this next year to come I am excited. I am excited to take on less weddings so that I can focus even more on our client experience, creating impactful designs and growing in my own style. I am excited to welcome a son into this world and to grow even more as a mom, wife and human. I am also excited to continue to grow this business, Haven Florals, my first passion baby.

If you’ve made it this far, THANK YOU for reading. I hope this holiday season is filled with so much joy, love, great food and lots of laughs! Cheers and farewell to 2021 and welcome 2022!

All my love,

Kristina
